State Archery Tournament

On Wednesday, March 30th the Mid-Carolina High School Archery Team competed in the SC NASP State Tournament at the Sumter Civic Center.  Mid-Carolina High finished with a score of 2987 total points which was an improvement from the team’s qualifying score.  Lead shooters for the boys were Ben Anderson, Travis Beard, and Cole Graham.  Dianna Moore led the girls, followed by Kassidy Harrison and Arial Kennedy. The team also qualified and competed in the IBO State 3D tournament with top shooters for the Rebel archers being Cole Graham, Travis Beard, and Brady Moates for the guys. Top girls for the Rebels at the 3D range were Kassidy Harrison, Abbi Livingston, and Arial Kennedy. These young men and young women accumulated a score of 1514, which was a big improvement from the qualifying score acquired at Pelion during the qualifier. Other archers competing in the tournament were Kyle Fulmer, Andrew Kennedy, Carson Cockrell, Tripp Forbis, Kayley Minick, Tyler Buckley, and TJ Beard. 

During the state tournament seniors’ names are placed into a drawing for ten $1,000 scholarships, Mid-Carolina High school senior TJ Beard was lucky enough to hear his name called for one of these scholarships during the closing ceremonies.
