Jan. 22 Semester 2 & 4 Day Face to Face Transition Updates

Students in grades 9-12 who requested and are approved for the 4 days per week face-to-face instructional setting, will transition to four days of instruction on January 22. The four days of face-to-face instruction will take place on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.  Wednesdays will remain a virtual day for all students.

Students who requested and are approved to attend Newberry ONE Institute for eLearning will start their Semester 2 virtual classes on January 22 as well.

Semester 2 student schedules were mailed home on Tuesday, January 12. Schedules can also be accessed in parent portal.  The first day for Semester 2 classes will be on January 22.

In order to safely accommodate the increase in students as we transition to face-to-face instruction 4 days a week, MCHS will operate on an alternative five lunch bell schedule beginning on January 22.  Student lunch times will be based upon the location of the student’s third block class.  Regular announcements will be made throughout the day on January 22 directing students on when and where to move.  Doors will open for students to enter the building at 7:35 a.m. and school will officially begin at 7:55 a.m.  The school day will officially end at 3:15 p.m.
