MCHS EOC After School Academy next meeting is Thursday, March 8
On Monday, March 6 MCHS hosted its first after school EOC Academy during 2nd Semester for all students currently taking one or more EOC courses, such as Algebra I, Intermediate Algebra, Biology 1, English 2, or U.S. History. The after school EOC Academy will be hosted on Mondays and Thursdays from 3:30 to 4: 30 p.m. for approximately eight weeks. The next EOC After-School Academy will be held on Thursday, March 8.
Students in attendance receive customized, face-to-face instruction with one-on-one feedback for how to approach and answer content-specific questions. It is highly recommended that all students enrolled in a EOC course attend the EOC Academy to help remediate any gaps in learning by reviewing pertinent concepts that will be assessed on the EOC final exam.
As additional incentives for attending the after school EOC Academy, students who attend 8 sessions or more will be honored with a Pizza Party Celebration on Friday, May 12th, 2023, in the Media Center during both Lunch Activity Periods. Please note that students will be required to secure their own transportation if they wish to participate in the EOC Academy. Transportation will not be provided by the school.
All students who will be participating in the EOC Academy will be asked to meet at the front stairwell of the school at 3:20 p.m. to check-in, receive a free meal, and be directed to their classroom location. It is our hope that participation in this academy will help improve your final EOC score, which will count 20% of a student's final grade. We look forward to seeing you soon after school.
