MCHS Art Club
Art Club gives students a chance to express their creativity through art while participating in fundraising, community activities, and state and national competitions. Members are privileged to hear numerous guest speakers throughout the year and visit a major museum in SC or NC.
Description of the Club:
Art Club gives students a chance to express both their creativity and their charity through pumpkin and window painting fundraising projects. Proceeds from these events are used to purchase art supplies for local elementary students, food for homeless pets, decorate for Golden Oldies and purchase gifts for the Angel Tree. Art Club promotes community partnership by decorating local nursing homes with photographs and artwork throughout the school year.
Guest speakers help develop the members as part of a culture of creativity. Often, these speakers inspire and motivate the individuals in the club while developing contacts for them in the artistic community. In addition art club has established contacts which provide opportunities to enter in numerous completions outside of the normal classroom opportunities.
With an average of 75 members, Art Club offers unique opportunities to the artistically inclined student, including more information on camps and awareness of the Governors School for the Arts.
