January 2021 Semester 2 High School Summer Reading Information & Reminders
Attention Students:
As we prepare for second semester courses, if you will be taking an Honors English class (2, 3, or 4) you will need to be sure you have completed your required summer reading. Required reading choices for each Honors English course can be found on the attached handout. If you need a book, please see your English teacher, or visit the MCHS library. You are encouraged to take notes as you read to help you as you prepare for your required writing assignment that will be given during the week of February 8th-12th and will count as a major grade. During the first two weeks of class your teachers will prepare you for the writing assignment that will be given. Students who have not read their novels and do not complete the writing assignment will receive a zero; therefore, it is imperative that students are prepared.
Additionally, honors students may complete a second reading of their own choice and submit a project from the choice board that correlates with the second book. This assignment is due by February 11th to your teacher.
Students enrolled in English 1, 2, 3, or 4 CP classes, please review the suggested texts and choice board assignment options if you would like to submit an assignment for a grade. All summer reading choice board assignments are due by February 11th.
