October was Bully Prevention Month. In order to help bring awareness about the harmful effects of bullying, MCHS students in grades 9-12 took part in the Common Sense Media Curriculum during the week of October 28 - November 1. The Common Sense Curriculum helps bring awareness regarding cyberbullying and the importance of practicing digital citizenship on the web. The lesson topics were as follows: 9th grade- "Private Today, Public Tomorrow"; 10th grade- "Risky Online Relationships"; 11th grade- “College Bound”; and 12th grade- "Taking Perspectives on Cyberbullying". Overall, students gained awareness regarding appropriate online behavior and maintaining online safety and privacy.
