Representatives of Mid-Carolina High School’s Student Council attended the South Carolina Association of Student Councils conference at Cane Bay High School in Summerville, S.C. on Friday, March 17 - Sunday, March 19. The students participated in leadership-based training and workshops, learned lessons from professional motivational speakers, and networked with other student councils. They have brought back all of their new ideas to Mid-Carolina in time for next school year. This year Mid-Carolina won 2 project awards: first place for our Military Appreciation project, written by Drew Bunce, and third place for our Litter-Free Games project, written by Will Murray. Grant Mays presented a workshop on Writing a Good Speech, and Reid Brigman worked at the conference level as our District 6 vice-chair. Everyone had a great time and got re-energized about the value of positive leadership. Students were also inspired to continue with their leadership journey and participate in summer camp.
Attendees were: Callie Blanchard, Jordan Barnes, Alleigh Berley, Hayleigh Fulmer, Alisa Rogers, Will Murray, Drew Bunce, Grant Mays, Catherine Taylor, Reid Brigman, Katie Connelly, Madison Bickley, Ms. Anna Estep, Mr. Matt Shearer, and Ms. Ann Darr.
